These terms cover your use of What's My EQ Score, a free tool published by Leading Between The Lines. Using the site means you accept what follows. If any of it doesn't work for you, please don't use the test.

What you get

The test asks a set of frequency questions and returns an overall emotional intelligence score plus a score for each of four domains: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, and Relationship Management. It is free to take, and your full results are shown on screen with no paywall.

What it is not

Read this part carefully. What's My EQ Score is a self-report questionnaire for reflection and growth. It is not a clinical or diagnostic instrument, and it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed therapist, counselor, physician, or other qualified professional. Your score describes how you tend to answer today, not a fixed or permanent trait, and it should never be used to make hiring, firing, medical, or other high-stakes decisions about yourself or anyone else.

Where the model comes from

We organize results around the four-domain view of emotional intelligence popularized by Daniel Goleman. That framework is public domain; every question we ask is written by us. We are independent — not affiliated with, licensed by, or endorsed by Daniel Goleman, Korn Ferry, MHS (the EQ-i publisher), TalentSmartEQ, Six Seconds, or any other commercial EQ assessment.

Using the test fairly

For the result to mean anything, answer honestly and in one sitting rather than gaming the questions. Please use your results for your own reflection and development. Don't attempt to scrape, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the site, and don't submit the form through automated means.

Our content

The questions, written results, articles, design, and code on this site belong to Leading Between The Lines. The underlying EQ concept is public domain, but our particular wording and implementation are not — please don't copy or republish them without asking first.

The test and site are offered as they are, without any warranty, and we make no promise about how accurate or useful your result will be. Governing law and updates
